Biography of an Artist
" Ducks in a Row" Oil on Canvas Sold From the early years of her life the artist, Rachel Kabitzke, traveling the world has been imbedded into her soul. Her early developmental years were spent living abroad in Germany while traveling Europe strapped to her mother’s back. Immersing herself with in the local customs and the wonderful people she happens upon. Traveling, never being shackled to one location has affected her outlook on life and in doing so developed her individuality as an artist. Recently, Rachel has become married to a world traveler himself on the beaches of Costa Rica. He having as much passion for adventure as she, their first official date being them sky diving together. It was her husband who first introduced her into the world of motocross and to the experience of connecting with her motorbike. This feeling is what inspired her to bring her experience onto canvas. | ARTIST STATEMENT As an artist and an individual I have always tried to follow the saying, “Infinite diversity in infinite combinations.” To myself these words represent an openness to new ideas, events, and individuals. I feel that this statement strongly represents my work as an artist, incorporating new ideas, techniques, and materials that I come across daily. My life as an artist has opened my eyes to the diversity in our world, from the nuance of every leaf to the magnificent blaze of industrial lights of a city at night. Diversity is what makes our world. As an artist, as an individual I cannot let myself be contained to the traditional ideals of what is the “correct” way to create, to be an artist. I create what I see and feel, and as each day is new and different, I challenge myself with new ways to create, new ways to express myself. | EXHIBITIONS
